Nanty Level the Mini Series

Todays match report is brought to you courtesy of "ALL ABOUT TILING" and its owner Abers own Mr Simon Daniel. Hes available to take care of all your tiling needs and is a good bet for a night on the tiles too as hes good company also.
Nantyffyllon were once again the visitors to Plas Y Ddol and after last weeks titanic cup encounter were Aber narrowly emerged victorious another epic battle was on the cards. The first danger however came in the warm up when during the pre match talk a kamakaze fly was heading straight towards Goat intent on taking him out. Luckily my Mr Mayagee skills kicked in and i smoothly took him out with a swift grab and released him at a safe distance to go on his way much to Goats relief.
Nanty were well up for a revenge mission judging by the noises coming out of their changing rooms pre match and the game kicked off at a lively pace as both sides got stuck into each other with gusto just like Simon gets stuck into his tiling jobs. Aber drew first blood when Hodge continued his amazing run by knocking over an early penalty. Nanty fought back and after battering the Aber line their impressive no 9 found a gap and went over for an unconverted try. This inspired Aber to take the game to Nanty and following some storming runs by Goat, Dewi and Jack the ball found itself to Buffalo centre Nic Davies who wide out forced himself over in the corner carrying several opponents with him. Hodge continued his run nonchantly from the touchline to keep his Vardyesqe run going. Hes like Biggar since xmas but without the wierd ticks. From the ko Big Kelv rampaged forward allowing us to set up camp once again in the Nanty 22 allowing centre Adam Evans to cross for a fine try after good handling from the backs, no surprise Hodge knocked over the conversion. 20-5 up we were looking good but before ht Nanty turned up the heat and despite several of their players being leveled most notably by Scones and as usual Owen forced their way over for a second unconverted try.
The second half saw Nic forced off and he was replaced by brother Martyn making a welcome reappearance in Aber colours. With conditions deteriorating Nanty looked to their big pack to get back into the game and got the dream start by forcing their way over after a period of concerted pressure in the Rheola corner for a converted try. Undaunted we forced our way upfield and Hodge knocked over another penalty to keep up his 100% record just like the 100% record of satisfied customers with All About Tiling. Things went downhill from there however with first Cons getting a yellow card for cheekily trying to ref the game and Nanty crossing out wide for an unconverted try. Straight from the ko Nanty the Nanty winger who had.endeared himself to the Aber faithfully over the last two games went on a blockbusting run to score a fine individual try again unconverted for a 27-23 scoreline. things got worse when the always bellicose Ding receiving a yellow card after a 29 man brawl with the Nanty 15 just enjoying the view. To make matters worse they knocked over another penalty to make the score 30-23 undaunted we forced our way back into the game the scrum had battled all afternoon and the line out had also gone well with Alexander Daniel and Scones winning a lot of ball and we forced our way back up field. Cons had a close escape from a red card after capt Doc did some excellent diplomatic skills with a ref who gave a few strange decisions but was obviously not impressed and rightly so with our back chat and dissent. Despite ending the half storming the Nanty line with Shaver, Foxy, Kelvan and Doc trying to storm over among others we couldn't quite gain a draw which perhaps we wouldn't have deserved as Nanty did dominate the majority of the second half. So Nanty gained 30-23 win and we picked up a deserved bonus point to help the relegation battle which the Nanty 2 admitted he didnt know how we are involved in after the last fortnights battles.
Superb effort as always boys and good to see Tank back in action and Alex Williams but ultimately just came up short which never happens when you get your tiling done by All About Tileing and the absolute tile Simon Daniel.
Man of the match as chosen totally unbiasedly by Mr Daniel was Alexander Daniel who did have a fine match in defense and in the line out. Not happy that he picked me as Twat of the match for not spelling Alexanders surname correctly in my previous reports but he who pays the piper calls the tune.
Apres game activities Dewi last weeks twat defeated by the replacement Nanty 10 in the marathon drinkathon and as Shaver pointed out he had bigger guns than him to. Superb effort as always boys and even better you kept going to the end so Nelly and Myself didn't have to come off the bench!! Pyle away next week so lets try and get the season back on track with an away win.
