Strongman Effort at Bryncethin

Todays match report is brought to you by STRONGMAN SUPPLEMENTS and its owner the strongman himself Ben Hillman. It takes a strongman to venture up to Bryncethin for a crunch relegation encounter and Kelvan ruled himself out late on with an ankle injury that didn't prevent him walking down to their clubhouse half a mile away for a pre match pint. Good to see Nic Davies make that journey too, he did say Jeff Spud offered to give him a piggyback but as Jeffs so short he'd have been walking anyway. Kelvans withdrawal meant the evergreen veteran Robert Neil Lewis was drafted into the squad and straight into the team and the front row. Now this was something he obviously had accounted for whilst celebrating Wales beating France the previous night as to put it politely he was still steaming!! In my 30 years playing rugby I've never seen anyone warm up with a cup of coffee and a burger. If you want to warm up properly before a game you should check out Strongman Supplements for one of their many products. They provide sports and diet supplements for whatever you are looking to achieve. If it is weight loss (Two Coaches!!!thats me dropped for the season, result!) Muscle Building (Pepsi), or just general fitness (everyone except me obviously) they have the products that can help you achieve your goals. Competitive prices and great nutritional values and taste complete the full package of products.
The game started with Bryncethin playing with the wind and looking to make a strong start, with our boys equally determined the game swung back and fore with neither side getting on top. Our backs were looking dangerous though and with Scones and Alex Daniel leaping like salmon we were ruling the lineout and pinching ball with impunity. When we got some go forward ball Cellan and Dewi made strong runs one of which ended with Dewi using their combatative openside as a speedbump, revenge for him booting Cons in the head earlier perhaps. However it was Abers answer to Shane Williams the rubber man himself the Goat who hit an angle Pythagoras wouldn't have been able to measure even with a protractor to crash over under the sticks for the opening try converted by Hodge. However once again we shot ourselves in the foot by cocking up the kick off and after the ball bounced around like George Norths try last night before Bryncethin crashed over for an unconverted try to put them back in the game at 7-5. Whereas the scrums were 50/50 Nelly breathing on their loosehead had the right effect as he was rapidly becoming as pissed as Nelly was, now whereas Nelly is used to scrummaging pissed he wasn't and Nelly and us were begining to get on top up front. We soon extended our lead when a huge forward drive off a 5 yard line out saw Nic Shaver (defiantly needs some fitness and muscle supplements) cross at the back of the speeding rolling maul and refusing to offload to Nelly who added his weight to the effort. Hodge missed the conversion but we were in the ascendancy and soon a storming run by Trystan saw him scatter bodies before offloading for Dewi to reward his support running by crashing over the line for our third try again converted by Hodge. Despite our coaches best efforts to wind up the opposition by calling their number 9 who thought he was Terry Holmes a "sunbed f'er" we were maintaing our discipline even the "honey badger" himself Ding was behaving himself and probing scrum half Cons kept his after a cheapshot by the number 8.
The second half started like the first half with our search for a bonus point try proving fruitless as both sides played between the 22's . Our tackling was strong as ever with Scones leading the way levelling runner after runner even those who tried hurdling him!! Hodge had a penalty to extend our lead but that final try still didn't come until mid way through the half as a series of scrum 5s saw us push Bryncethin back and eventually the ref lost patience and awarded a penalty try to reward the work of the big fellas up front Nelly, Shaver, and Beans, Hodge knocked over the conversion and surely we were home and dry at 29-5. However we could obviously do with some of the fitness supplements as we began to fall apart at the seams, not even the introduction of Foxy and Schwarcheneger Pepsi could stop Bryncethin crossing for their second try. We had also lost Dewi Cuthbert to injury (must have been his fingers as he dropped more balls than a one armed juggler) and he was replaced by JD himself Jason Donovan no Jordan Davies for his first game in years a welcome addition to the squad. There was quite a debate about where JD would play he wanted to play centre but Sades was keen for him to play wing, JD weren't so keen and eventually got his way as we reshuffled the backs. From the ko it was Bryncethins turn to mess it up and we earned a 5 meter scrum. By this time Nelly had really blown up and was still standing by the half way line, Sades asked him if he had one more scrum in him and his reply was unprintable so i had to go on to replace the lazy old boy. Result my arrival combined with the Bryncethin coach coming on (ex Bridgend front row I'm led to believe) saw us shoved off the ball allowing Bryncethin a chance to relieve the pressure. Despite some good defense by Doc (king of the ever so slightly late hits) and crackers Jack Holland and some great last gasp tackles by the Goat, Bryncethin crossed for another try to put the result back in doubt. Slowing the game down we took back control despite the best efforts of their impressive number 7 who was probably the smallest player on the field. Trystan showed Adam Evs how to kick by putting a superb touchfinder in and we finished the game strongly camped in the Bryncethin 22. Final score a 27-19 bonus point win for the Aber. A strongman performance to go with the match sponsors even if we still left our opponents in with a shout at the end, stamina products anyone? You know where to get them from and all their other products at www.strongmansupplements.co.uk or add them on Facebook fir weekly offers and giveaways.
Mom for his Herculean efforts must be Nelly whilst despite his well taken try twat must go to Dewi was Pritchard now Cuthbert for his hands like feet. Glyncorwg home next week boys as we look to continue our climb up the table another big effort needed.
Final mention to the youth who despite having only 14 players gave Nantymoel a game before going down 47-21 a good effort boys and finally a game first one since before Xmas!!!
